SUDBURY TO HOST - EMERGING LEADERS CONFERENCE: DREAM.DARE.DO.
"IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!"
Last fall’s Emerging Leaders: Succession Planning for Community Conference was a resounding success! As part of the 2006 Emerging Leaders Week in Greater Sudbury, as declared by Mayor David Courtemanche, our community will again host Emerging Leaders: Dream. Dare. Do. on Thursday, November 2nd at the Caruso Club.
This half-day conference will commence with a continental breakfast followed by a Workforce Development Panel of three business leaders from Sudbury with companies of under 100 employees or less, as they share their experiences of workforce succession planning.
Imagine the Possibilities! keynote presentation will feature world-class speakers and best-selling authors,
Dr. Joe MacInnis, and his son, Jeff MacInnis, both explorers who take the human drive for exploration and discovery to the business plain. Their stories, and breathtaking visuals, take you to the next level of Emerging Leaders . . . Dream. Dare. Do.
Dr. Joe MacInnis, a medical doctor, is a noted deep sea explorer and best-selling author. The first person to dive under the North Pole, and among the first to dive to the Titanic. Dr. MacInnis has written ten books on the ocean, as well as articles for National Geographic and Scientific American. Among his books are: Saving the Oceans, Titanic: In a New Light, and Fitzgerald's Storm. www.drjoemacinnis.com
Jeff MacInnis, as the leader of the first team to sail the Northwest Passage, captain of a top 10 Eco-Challenge Team, a World Cup downhill ski racer, best-selling author and entrepreneur, MacInnis delivers a "must-see" multimedia presentation. Using National Geographic images and television footage, the audience "lives" the adventure and gains valuable insight into corporate and personal performance. www.excellenceevents.com
And new this year, an additional element to the conference will be an awards luncheon presentation 40 Under Forty. This is open to all public and private sector young leaders under the age of forty, residing in the Sudbury and Manitoulin regions. The selection process will be determined by an independent panel of judges. Nominees will be judged by their level of expertise, accomplishments and community involvement. The call for nominations deadline is Monday July 31st, 2006. These 40 leaders will be profiled in a magazine and publicly recognised for their accomplishments.
Emerging Leaders: Dream.Dare.Do. is presented by the City of Greater Sudbury, Sudbury & Manitoulin Workforce Partnerships Board, and Northern Ontario Business.
